Rainbow Connection

Our local lake was recently stocked with thousands of rainbow trout. Plenty of rain this evening, but when the sun came back the view was well-worth it. The fish were peckish, and that’s always fun.

The birds put on the real show: We saw several bald eagles buzz in low over the water near us. I’ve never seen one so close! There were hungry ospreys, hawks, herons, harriers, and more, all searching for an easy meal; a few dove in and managed to land a nice trout for dinner. A great ending to a great day.
